Hi, book besties. Welcome to Allison’s Book World where book lovers flourish.
As a reader, I have been using a reading tracker since late 2018, and it is a great tool to keep track of my TBR and book reviews.
I think every reader should use a book tracker, and after trying out reading trackers like Goodreads and Fable, I would recommend StoryGraph. Here are 5 reasons why you should pick StoryGraph as a reader.
Reason 1: Comprehensive Analytics

Have you ever wondered what some of your reading patterns are? Or how your reading tastes have evolved?
Well, seeing the data is helpful for tracking those patterns, and StoryGraph offers a great array of analytics for users to have data-backed insights into their reading habits. Some of these analytics include most read genres, moods, authors, average star rating, and more.
Knowing your reading habits through these analytics can not only make for a fun thing to share like it is a Spotify Wrapped for reading, but it can help you make better decisions when it comes to selecting your next read.
Reason 2: Better Recommendations

As a reader, recommendations are a big source of influence in choosing your next read, so you want the book recommendations that you get to be good and tailored to your tastes.
StoryGraph uses an algorithm and a survey to tailor book recommendations to your likes. This means you get more personal book recommendations and not just generic, mass-appealing, cookie-cutter recommendations which is a problem that has been found on Goodreads.
Reason 3: Quarter Star Rating Option

If you have ever used Goodreads, you will know that when you go to rate a book, you can only rate with full stars and cannot break your rating down into quarter stars to have a more precise rating. StoryGraph, on the other hand, allows readers flexibility with the quarter star rating system, so that you can more accurately review a book.
Reason 4: You Don’t Have to Support Amazon

One of the main selling points of StoryGraph is that you don’t have to support Amazon. Goodreads, which is often considered the “industry-standard” of book tracking and reviewing sites, is owned by Amazon. So, if you are someone who is sick of Amazon, StoryGraph is a great alternative to have a reading tracker that aligns with your values.
Reason 5: Kobo Integration

If you own a Kobo e-reader, StoryGraph is a great fit. StoryGraph and Kobo partnered together so that Kobo e-readers will seamlessly integrate into StoryGraph.
What does that mean? Your reading progress will update on StoryGraph as you read on your Kobo, making tracking your reading journey easier. Oh, and Kobo isn’t owned by Amazon like Kindle, so if you agree with reason four, then it is a double win!
Overall, StoryGraph is a product that I use constantly as a reader and would recommend to every reader.
